Hadith #85
Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ أَخْبَرَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ الْحَنَفِيُّ يَمَامِيٌّ سَمِعْتُ عِكْرِمَةَ بْنَ خَالِدٍ الْمَخْزُومِيَّ يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ مَنْ تَعَظَّمَ فِي نَفْسِهِ أَوْ اخْتَالَ فِي مِشْيَتِهِ لَقِيَ اللَّهَ وَهُوَ عَلَيْهِ غَضْبَانُ
English Translation
It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما) — via Yahya ibn Ishaq, from Yunus ibn al-Qasim al-Hanafi, from 'Ikrima ibn Khalid al-Makhzumi — that he said: 'I heard Ibn 'Umar say: "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: 'Whoever considers himself great [in his own eyes] or walks with arrogance will meet Allah while He is angry with him.'"'
