It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما) — via Harun ibn Ma'ruf, from 'Abdullah ibn Wahb, from Haywa, from Abu 'Uthman, from 'Abdullah ibn Dinar — that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'The greatest of lies [afra al-fira] are three: a man who claims lineage to other than his father; a man who claims to have seen in sleep what he did not see; and a man who alters the boundary markers of land.'
