حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ حَدَّثَنِي حُيَيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْحُبُلِيِّ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو أَنَّ رَجُلًا جَاءَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ الل
َّهِ مَا عَمَلُ الْجَنَّةِ قَالَ الصِّدْقُ وَإِذَا صَدَقَ الْعَبْدُ بَرَّ وَإِذَا بَرَّ آمَنَ وَإِذَا آمَنَ دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مَا عَمَلُ النَّارِ قَالَ الْكَذِبُ إِذَا كَذَبَ الْعَبْدُ فَجَرَ وَإِذَا فَجَرَ كَفَرَ وَإِذَا كَفَرَ دَخَلَ يَعْنِي النَّارَ

English Translation
It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn 'Amr (رضي الله عنهما) — via Hasan, from Ibn Lahi'a, from Huyayy ibn 'Abdullah, from Abu 'Abd al-Rahman al-Hubuli — that a man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, what is the deed [that leads] to Paradise?' He said: 'Truthfulness — and when a man is truthful he attains righteousness [birr], and when he attains righteousness he enters Paradise. And lying — when a man lies he commits wickedness [fujur], and when he commits wickedness he enters the Fire.'
