Hadith #142
Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ قَالَ أَتَتْ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ امْرَأَتَانِ فِي أَيْدِيهِمَا أَسَاوِرُ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ فَقَالَ
لَهُمَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَتُحِبَّانِ أَنْ يُسَوِّرَكُمَا اللَّهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ أَسَاوِرَ مِنْ نَارٍ قَالَتَا لَا قَالَ فَأَدِّيَا حَقَّ هَذَا الَّذِي فِي أَيْدِيكُمَا

English Translation
It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn 'Amr (رضي الله عنهما) — via Abu Mu'awiya, from Hajjaj, from 'Amr ibn Shu'ayb, from his father, from his grandfather — that he said: 'Two women came to the Prophet ﷺ wearing gold bracelets on their hands. the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to them: "Do you want Allah to put bracelets of fire on you on the Day of Resurrection?" They said: "No." He said: "Then pay the zakah of what is in your hands."'
