English Translation

It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn 'Amr (رضي الله عنهما) — via Yahya, from Ibn 'Ajlan, from 'Amr ibn Shu'ayb, from his father, from his grandfather — that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade buying and selling in the mosque, reciting poetry in it, announcing lost items [to find their owners] in it, and sitting in circles [halaqat] on Friday before the prayer.
