‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏أَبُو النَّضْرِ ‏ ‏وَعَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ ‏ ‏قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏مُحَمَّدٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ رَاشِدٍ ‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏سُلَيْمَانُ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏عَمْرِو بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِيهِ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏جَدِّهِ ‏ ‏أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏قَضَى أَنَّ ‏ ‏عَقْلَ أَهْلِ الْكِتَابَيْنِ نِصْفُ عَقْلِ الْمُسْلِمِينَ ‏ ‏وَهُمْ ‏ ‏الْيَهُودُ ‏ ‏وَالنَّصَارَى ‏

English Translation

It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn 'Amr (رضي الله عنهما) — via Abu al-Nadr and 'Abd al-Samad, from Muhammad ibn Rashid, from Sulayman, from 'Amr ibn Shu'ayb, from his father, from his grandfather — that the Prophet ﷺ ruled that the blood money ['aql] of the People of the Two Books [Jews and Christians] is half the blood money of the Muslims.
