English Translation

It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn 'Amr (رضي الله عنهما) — via Abu Bakr al-Hanafi, from Usama ibn Zayd, from 'Amr ibn Shu'ayb, from his father, from his grandfather — that the Prophet ﷺ was sleeping and found a date beneath his side. He picked it up and ate it. Then toward the end of the night he began writhing [in discomfort], which alarmed some of his wives. He said: 'I found a date beneath my side and ate it — but I feared it might be from the sadaqah dates.'
