English Translation

It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn 'Amr (رضي الله عنهما) — via Waki', from Sufyan, from Abu al-Zinad, from al-A'raj, from Abu Hurayra — that the Prophet ﷺ was asked about the guardian of an orphan: 'May he eat from his wealth?' He said: 'Whoever guardians an orphan who has wealth — let him eat from it without extravagance and without self-enrichment. And do not protect your wealth with his wealth.'
