English Translation
It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn 'Amr (رضي الله عنهما) — via Waki', from al-Mas'udi, from 'Amr ibn Murra, from 'Abdullah ibn al-Harith al-Muktib, from Abu Kathir al-Zubaydi — that a man asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ: 'Which hijra is best?' He said: 'That you abandon what your Lord dislikes. And there are two hijras: the hijra of the town-dweller [hadir] and the hijra of the desert-dweller [badawi]. As for the hijra of the desert-dweller — he obeys when commanded and responds when called. As for the hijra of the town-dweller — it is the harder of the two and the greater in reward.'
