English Translation
It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn 'Amr (رضي الله عنهما) — via Isma'il ibn Ibrahim, from 'Ata' ibn al-Sa'ib, from his father — that a man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: 'I have come to give you my pledge of allegiance — and I left my parents weeping.' He said: 'Return to them and make them laugh as you made them cry.' And he refused to accept his pledge.
