حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ سَمِعْتُ وَهْبَ بْنَ جَابِرٍ يَقُولُ إِنَّ مَوْلًى لِعَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو قَالَ لَهُ إِنِّي أُرِيدُ أَنْ أ
ُقِيمَ هَذَا الشَّهْرَ هَاهُنَا بِبَيْتِ الْمَقْدِسِ فَقَالَ لَهُ تَرَكْتَ لِأَهْلِكَ مَا يَقُوتُهُمْ هَذَا الشَّهْرَ قَالَ لَا قَالَ فَارْجِعْ إِلَى أَهْلِكَ فَاتْرُكْ لَهُمْ مَا يَقُوتُهُمْ فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ كَفَى بِالْمَرْءِ إِثْمًا أَنْ يُضِيعَ مَنْ يَقُوتُ

English Translation
It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn 'Amr (رضي الله عنهما) — via Muhammad ibn Ja'far, from Shu'ba, from Abu Ishaq, who heard Wahb ibn Jabir say — that a freed slave of 'Abdullah ibn 'Amr said to him: 'I want to remain this month here at Bayt al-Maqdis [Jerusalem].' He said to him: 'Have you left for your family provisions for this month?' He said: 'No.' He said: 'Return to your family and leave for them their provisions — for I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: "It is sufficient sin for a man to neglect those he is responsible to feed."'
