English Translation
It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn 'Amr (رضي الله عنهما) — via al-Walid ibn al-Qasim ibn al-Walid, who heard his father mentioning it from Abu al-Hajjaj — that 'Abdullah ibn 'Amr said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Three [traits] — if they are all in a man, he is a pure hypocrite: when he speaks he lies, when he makes a promise he breaks it, and when he is entrusted [with something] he betrays it. And whoever has one of these traits has one trait of hypocrisy within him — until he abandons it.'
