English Translation
It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn 'Amr (رضي الله عنهما) — via Husayn ibn Muhammad, from Yazid ibn 'Ata', from Abu Sinan, from 'Abdullah ibn Abi al-Hudhayl, from an elder — that he said: 'I entered a mosque in Syria and prayed two rak'as, then sat. An elder came and prayed at a pillar. When he finished and the people gathered around him, I drew close and heard him say: "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ seek refuge from knowledge that gives no benefit, a heart that does not humble itself, a supplication that is not heard, and a soul that is never satisfied — and from these four."'
