English Translation
Yazid ibn Harun narrated to us, al-'Awwam informed us, a freed slave of Abdullah ibn Amr narrated to me, from Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-As (رضي الله عنهما) who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saw the sun on the day it was eclipsed and said: 'Had you seen what I have seen, you would have wept much and laughed little. Verily the sun and the moon are two signs from among the signs of Allah. They do not eclipse for the death or life of anyone. When you see that, hasten to the remembrance of Allah and to prayer.'
