حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَا تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ حَتَّى يَأْخُذَ اللَّهُ شَرِيطَتَهُ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْأَرْضِ فَيَبْقَى فِيهَا
عَجَاجَةٌ لَا يَعْرِفُونَ مَعْرُوفًا وَلَا يُنْكِرُونَ مُنْكَرًا حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو وَلَمْ يَرْفَعْهُ وَقَالَ حَتَّى يَأْخُذَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ شَرِيطَتَهُ مِنْ النَّاسِ

English Translation
It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn 'Amr (رضي الله عنهما) — via 'Abd al-Samad, from Hammam, from Qatada, from al-Hasan — that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'The Hour will not come until Allah takes His elect [sharitata — the best of His servants] from the people of the earth. What will remain among them is a rabble [dregs] who neither recognize any good nor forbid any evil.' [Also narrated via 'Affan, from Hammam, from Qatada, from al-Hasan, from 'Abdullah ibn 'Amr — without raising it to the Prophet ﷺ — and he said: '...until Allah (عز وجل) takes His elect from the people.']
