حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ هُبَيْرَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عَ
مْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ يَقُولُ خَرَجَ عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمًا كَالْمُوَدِّعِ فَقَالَ أَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ النَّبِيُّ الْأُمِّيُّ أَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ النَّبِيُّ الْأُمِّيُّ ثَلَاثًا وَلَا نَبِيَّ بَعْدِي أُوتِيتُ فَوَاتِحَ الْكَلِمِ وَجَوَامِعَهُ وَخَوَاتِمَهُ وَعَلِمْتُ كَمْ خَزَنَةُ النَّارِ وَحَمَلَةُ الْعَرْشِ وَتُجُوِّزَ بِي وَعُوفِيتُ وَعُوفِيَتْ أُمَّتِي فَاسْمَعُوا وَأَطِيعُوا مَا دُمْتُ فِيكُمْ فَإِذَا ذُهِبَ بِي فَعَلَيْكُمْ بِكِتَابِ اللَّهِ أَحِلُّوا حَلَالَهُ وَحَرِّمُوا حَرَامَهُ

English Translation
It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn 'Amr ibn al-'As (رضي الله عنهما) — via Yahya ibn Ishaq, from Ibn Lahi'a, from 'Abdullah ibn Hubayra, from 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Jubayr — who said: 'I heard 'Abdullah ibn 'Amr ibn al-'As say: "the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came out to us one day as if bidding farewell. He said: 'I am Muhammad, the Ummi Prophet — I am Muhammad, the Ummi Prophet' — three times — 'and there is no prophet after me. I have been given the openings of speech, its comprehensive expressions, and its conclusions. I have been informed of how many are the guardians of the Fire and the bearers of the Throne. I was pardoned and my ummah has been pardoned. Listen and obey as long as I am among you. When I am taken — hold fast to the Book of Allah: make lawful what it makes lawful and forbid what it forbids.'"'
