English Translation

It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn 'Amr ibn al-'As (رضي الله عنهما) — via Hasan ibn Musa al-Ashyab, from Hariz ibn 'Uthman al-Rahabi, from Hibban ibn Zayd — that he heard the Prophet ﷺ say from his pulpit: 'Show mercy — you will be shown mercy. Forgive — Allah will forgive you. Woe to those who only hear words [without acting on them]. Woe to those who persist in what they have done, knowing [it is wrong].'
