English Translation

It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn 'Amr ibn al-'As (رضي الله عنهما) — via Abu 'Abd al-Rahman, from Haywa and Ibn Lahi'a, from Abu Hani' al-Khawlani, who heard Abu 'Abd al-Rahman al-Hubuli say — that he heard 'Abdullah ibn 'Amr ibn al-'As say: 'I heard the Prophet ﷺ say: "There are two traits — whoever has them, Allah will record him among the grateful and the patient [al-shakirin wa al-sabirin]: Whoever, when he looks at what is above him in his religion, follows it — and when he looks at what is below him in worldly matters, he praises Allah for what he has been blessed with over others."'
