حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ أَخْبَرَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ سَلَّامٍ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو سَلَمَةَ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ خَبَرِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ أَنَّهُ لَمَّا كَسَفَتْ الشَّمْسُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّ
هِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نُودِيَ أَنْ الصَّلَاةُ جَامِعَةٌ فَرَكَعَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ فِي سَجْدَةٍ ثُمَّ جُلِّيَ عَنْ الشَّمْسِ فَقَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ أُمُّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ مَا سَجَدْتُ سُجُودًا قَطُّ أَطْوَلَ مِنْهُ وَلَا رَكَعْتُ رُكُوعًا قَطُّ أَطْوَلَ مِنْهُ

English Translation
It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn 'Amr ibn al-'As (رضي الله عنهما) — via Hisham ibn Sa'id, from Mu'awiya ibn Sallam, from Yahya ibn Abi Kathir, from Abu Salama ibn 'Abd al-Rahman, from the account of 'Abdullah ibn 'Amr ibn al-'As — that when the sun eclipsed during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, the call was made: 'al-Salah jam'ia [the prayer is to be held in congregation].' the Messenger of Allah ﷺ performed two bowings [ruku'] within a single prostration cycle [saja]. Then the sun was uncovered. 'A'isha, Mother of the Believers, said: 'I never prostrated a prostration longer than it, and I never bowed a bowing longer than it.'
