English Translation
It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn 'Amr (رضي الله عنهما) — via Harun ibn Ma'ruf, from 'Abdullah ibn Wahb, from Usama — that 'Amr ibn Shu'ayb narrated to him from his father, from his grandfather — that a man came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said: 'I draw water into my trough until I fill it for my family, and then a camel belonging to someone else comes to me and I water it. Is there any reward in that for me?' the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'For every living creature with a thirsty liver [i.e., every thirsty being], there is a reward.'
