Hadith #547

English Translation

It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn 'Amr ibn al-'As (رضي الله عنهما) — via 'Abdullah ibn Yazid, from Haywa, from Rabi'a ibn Sayf al-Ma'afiri, from Abu 'Abd al-Rahman al-Hubuli — from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ that he saw his daughter Fatima [coming] and said to her: 'Where have you come from?' She said: 'I came from [following] the funeral of this man.' He said: 'Did you reach al-Kuda [the graveyard] with them?' She said: 'No — and how could I reach it when I have heard from you what I have heard?' He said: 'By the One in whose hand is my soul — had you reached al-Kuda with them, you would not see Paradise until your father's grandfather sees it [first].'
