English Translation

It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn 'Amr (رضي الله عنهما) — via Muhammad ibn 'Ubayd, from al-A'mash, from 'Amr ibn Murra, from Abu Yazid — that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Whoever causes people to hear of his deeds [for show] — Allah will make the listeners of His creation hear of him [to his disgrace], and will belittle him and humiliate him.'
