أَخْبَرَنَا هُشَيْمٌ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ دَخَلَ عُيَيْنَةُ بْنُ حِصْنٍ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَرَآهُ يُقَبِّلُ

حَسَنًا أَوْ حُسَيْنًا فَقَالَ لَهُ لَا تُقَبِّلْهُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ لَقَدْ وُلِدَ لِي عَشَرَةٌ مَا قَبَّلْتُ أَحَدًا مِنْهُمْ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّ مَنْ لَا يَرْحَمُ لَا يُرْحَمُ

English Translation

It was narrated from Abu Hurayra (رضي الله عنه) — via Hushaym, from al-Zuhri, from Abu Salama — that 'Uyayna ibn Hisn entered upon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and found him kissing Hasan or Husayn. He said: 'Do not kiss him, O Messenger of Allah — I have ten children and I have never kissed any of them.' the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Whoever does not show mercy will not be shown mercy.'
