حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ حَدَّثَنَا حُيَيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ أَنَّ أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْحُبُلِيَّ حَدَّثَهُ قَالَ أَخْرَجَ لَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو قِرْطَاسًا وَقَالَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُعَلِّمُنَا يَقُولُ اللَّهُمَّ فَاطِرَ السَّمَوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ عَالِمَ الْغَيْبِ وَالشَّهَادَةِ أَنْتَ رَبُّ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ وَإ
ِلَهُ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ وَحْدَكَ لَا شَرِيكَ لَكَ وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُكَ وَرَسُولُكَ وَالْمَلَائِكَةُ يَشْهَدُونَ أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ الشَّيْطَانِ وَشِرْكِهِ وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ أَنْ أَقْتَرِفَ عَلَى نَفْسِي إِثْمًا أَوْ أَجُرَّهُ عَلَى مُسْلِمٍ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُعَلِّمُهُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عَمْرٍو أَنْ يَقُولَ ذَلِكَ حِينَ يُرِيدُ أَنْ يَنَامَ

English Translation
It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn 'Amr (رضي الله عنهما) — via Hasan, from Ibn Lahi'a, from Huyayy ibn 'Abdullah, from Abu 'Abd al-Rahman al-Hubuli — that he said: ''Abdullah ibn 'Amr brought out for us a piece of paper [qirtas] and said: "the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to teach us [to say]: O Allah, Creator of the heavens and the earth [Fatir al-samawat wa al-ard], Knower of the unseen and the seen, Lord of all things and their Master — I bear witness that there is no god but You. I seek refuge in You from the evil of my own soul and from the evil of the devil and his [incitement to] shirk."'
