Hadith #116
Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ الْمُبَارَكِ أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي حَفْصَةَ عَنِ الزُّهْر
ِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَا تَأْتُوا الصَّلَاةَ وَأَنْتُمْ تَسْعَوْنَ وَلَكِنْ امْشُوا إِلَيْهَا وَعَلَيْكُمْ السَّكِينَةُ فَمَا أَدْرَكْتُمْ فَصَلُّوا وَمَا فَاتَكُمْ فَأَتِمُّوا

English Translation
It was narrated from Abu Hurayra (رضي الله عنه) — via 'Ali ibn Ishaq, from 'Abdullah [ibn al-Mubarak], from Muhammad ibn Abi Hafsa, from al-Zuhri, from Abu Salama — that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Do not come to the prayer while rushing. Rather, walk to it with tranquility [al-sakina]. Pray whatever you catch [with the imam], and complete what you missed.'
