English Translation

It was narrated from Abu Hurayra (رضي الله عنه) — via Sufyan, from Abu al-Zinad, from al-A'raj — that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'A man should not pray in a single garment when there is nothing from it on his shoulders [mankibayhi].' And on another occasion he said: 'on his upper arm [atiqihi].'
