حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ عَنِ الْأَعْرَجِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّمَا أَنَا بَشَرٌ أَغْضَبُ كَمَا يَغْضَبُ الْبَشَرُ فَأَيُّمَا رَجُلٍ آذَيْتُهُ أَوْ جَلَدْتُهُ فَاجْعَلْهَا لَهُ زَكَاةً وَصَلَاةً
English Translation
It was narrated from Abu Hurayra (رضي الله عنه) — via Sufyan, from Abu al-Zinad, from al-A'raj — that the Prophet ﷺ said: 'I am only human — I become angry as humans become angry. So whatever man I have harmed or struck [out of human reaction], let it be a purification [zakat] and a prayer [blessing] for him.'
