حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ عَنِ الْأَعْرَجِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَخْنَعُ اسْمٍ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ يَوْمَ الْقِ

English Translation

It was narrated from Abu Hurayra (رضي الله عنه) — via Sufyan, from Abu al-Zinad, from al-A'raj — from the Prophet ﷺ: 'The most despicable [akhna'] name before Allah on the Day of Resurrection is that of a man who called himself King of Kings [Malik al-Amlak].' [Ahmad said: I asked Abu 'Amr al-Shaybani about akhna' — he said: 'The most debased and lowly name before Allah.']
