حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنِ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ عَنِ الْأَعْرَجِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَفْضَلُ الصَّدَقَةِ مَا كَانَ يَعْنِي عَنْ ظَهْرِ غِنًى وَابْدَأْ بِمَنْ تَعُولُ
English Translation
It was narrated from Abu Hurayra (رضي الله عنه) — via Sufyan, from Abu al-Zinad, from al-A'raj — traced to the Prophet ﷺ: 'The best charity is that which is given from a position of [genuine] sufficiency [zahr ghina — above one's own needs]. And begin with those who are under your care [ta'ul].'
