‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏سُفْيَانُ ‏ ‏عَنِ ‏ ‏ابْنِ الْعَجْلَانِ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏سَعِيدٍ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ‏ ‏عَنْ النَّبِيِّ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏إِذَا وَقَعَ الذُّبَابُ فِي إِنَاءِ أَحَدِكُمْ فَلْيَغْمِسْهُ فَإِنَّ فِي أَحَدِ جَنَاحَيْهِ شِفَاءً وَالْآخَرِ دَاءً ‏

English Translation

It was narrated from Abu Hurayra (رضي الله عنه) — via Sufyan, from Ibn 'Ajlan, from Sa'id — from the Prophet ﷺ: 'When a fly falls into one of your vessels, submerge it [fully] — for in one of its two wings there is a cure [shifa'] and in the other there is a disease [da'].'
