English Translation

It was narrated from Abu Hurayra (رضي الله عنه) — via Sufyan [read to him from Ibn 'Ajlan, from Sa'id] — from the Prophet ﷺ: 'May Allah have mercy on a man who rises [for prayer] at night' — Sufyan said [citing the fuller wording heard from him]: '...and does not splash water in her [his wife's] face, but wipes it [gently to wake her].'
