English Translation

It was narrated from Abu Hurayra (رضي الله عنه) — via Sufyan, from 'Ata' ibn al-Sa'ib, from al-Agharr — Sufyan said on the first occasion [the chain was attributed to] the Messenger of Allah ﷺ; then he re-narrated it saying: from al-Agharr, from Abu Hurayra, who said: Allah (عز وجل) says: 'Greatness [al-kibria'] is My cloak and majesty [al-'izza] is My garment [izar]. Whoever contends with Me for either of them, I will cast him into the Fire.'
