English Translation
It was narrated from Abu Hurayra (رضي الله عنه) — via Sufyan, from Ayyub ibn Musa, from Sa'id — from the Prophet ﷺ: 'When the slave-woman of one of you commits fornication and her fornication becomes evident, let him administer the prescribed punishment [hadd] and not reproach her afterward [la yutharrib].' Sufyan explained: 'La yutharrib means: do not censure and publicly shame her for it.' '[And on the third or fourth offense], let him sell her — even if only for a braided rope [dafir].'
