حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنِ ابْنِ طَاوُسٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ وَأَبُو الزِّنَادِ عَنِ الْأَعْرَجِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ يَبْلُغُ بِهِ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَحْنُ الْآخِرُونَ وَنَحْنُ السَّابِقُونَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ بَيْدَ أَنَّ كُلَّ أُمَّةٍ أُوتِيَتْ الْكِتَابَ مِنْ قَبْلِنَا وَأُوتِينَاهُ مِنْ بَعْ
دِهِمْ ثُمَّ هَذَا الْيَوْمُ الَّذِي كَتَبَهُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ عَلَيْهِمْ فَاخْتَلَفُوا فِيهِ فَهَدَانَا اللَّهُ لَهُ فَالنَّاسُ لَنَا فِيهِ تَبَعٌ فَلِلْيَهُودِ غَدًا وَلِلنَّصَارَى بَعْدَ غَدٍ قَالَ أَحَدُهُمَا بَيْدَ أَنَّ وَقَالَ الْآخَرُ بَايْدَ

English Translation
It was narrated from Abu Hurayra (رضي الله عنه) — via Sufyan, from Ibn Tawus, from his father; and [also] via Abu al-Zinad, from al-A'raj — traced to the Prophet ﷺ: 'We are the last [to come] yet we are the foremost on the Day of Resurrection — save that [bayda] every nation was given the Book before us and we were given it after them. Then this day [Friday] which Allah (عز وجل) prescribed for them — they disputed over it, but Allah guided us to it. So the people follow us in it. The Jews have tomorrow [Saturday] and the Christians the day after [Sunday].' [One of the two narrators said bayda anna and the other said bayd anna — two pronunciation variants.]
