English Translation

It was narrated from Abu Hurayra (رضي الله عنه) — via Ibn Idris, who said: I heard al-A'mash, from Abu Salih — that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'We are the last, the foremost on the Day of Resurrection — save that they were given the Book before us and we were given it after them. This is the day [Friday] they were commanded [to observe] yet disputed over — and Allah made it a festival ['id] for us. This day is ours; tomorrow [Saturday] belongs to the Jews, and the day after [Sunday] to the Christians.'
