English Translation
It was narrated from Abu Hurayra (رضي الله عنه) — via Muhammad ibn Fudayl, from 'Umara, from Abu Zur'a — that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said — saying it three times: 'Beware of al-wisal [continuous fasting without breaking at night]!' They said: 'But you yourself practice wisal, O Messenger of Allah!' He said: 'You are not like me in that — I spend the night with my Lord feeding me and giving me drink. So take on of deeds only what you are capable of.'
