English Translation
It was narrated from Abu Hurayra (رضي الله عنه) — via Yazid ibn Harun, from Hisham, from Yahya ibn Abi Kathir, from Muhammad ibn Ibrahim ibn al-Harith, from Ya'qub — that he heard Abu Hurayra say: 'the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Whatever is below the izar [waistcloth, worn in arrogance below the ankles] is in the Fire."' [Ahmad noted: Al-Khaffaf narrated it via Abu Ya'qub — but in the handwriting of al-Tujibi: the correct [form] is via Ibn Ya'qub, who is 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Ya'qub, the mawla of al-Huraqa, the father of al-'Ala' — and this hadith is his.]
