English Translation

It was narrated from Abu Hurayra (رضي الله عنه) — via Yazid [ibn Harun], from Muhammad ibn 'Amr, from Abu al-Hakam (mawla of the Laythi clan) — that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'There is no [prize wager for a race] except in [a contest of] a camel [khuff — hoof/camel] or a horse [hafir — hoof/equine].'
