حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ فُضَيْلٍ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ رَجُل

ٍ عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْإِمَامُ ضَامِنٌ وَالْمُؤَذِّنُ مُؤْتَمَنٌ اللَّهُمَّ أَرْشِدْ الْأَئِمَّةَ وَاغْفِرْ لِلْمُؤَذِّنِينَ

English Translation
It was narrated from Abu Hurayra (رضي الله عنه) — via Muhammad ibn Fudayl, from al-A'mash, from a man, from Abu Salih — that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'The imam is a guarantor [responsible for the prayer of the congregation], and the mu'adhdhin is a trustee. O Allah, guide the imams aright and forgive the mu'adhdhins.'
