English Translation

It was narrated from Abu Hurayra (رضي الله عنه) — via Muhammad ibn Fudayl, from al-A'mash, from Abu Salih — that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Indeed every prayer has a beginning and an end. The beginning of Dhuhr time is when the sun declines [from its zenith], and its end is when 'Asr time enters. The beginning of 'Asr time is when its time enters, and its end is when the sun turns yellow. The beginning of Maghrib time is when the sun sets, and its end is when the horizon [glow] disappears. The beginning of 'Isha al-Akhira time is when the horizon disappears, and its end is when midnight comes. The beginning of Fajr time is when dawn breaks, and its end is when the sun rises.'
