حَدَّثَنَا يَعْلَى وَيَزِيدُ قَالَا أَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ عَنْ أَب

ِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ النَّاسُ تَبَعٌ لِقُرَيْشٍ فِي هَذَا الْأَمْرِ خِيَارُهُمْ تَبَعٌ لِخِيَارِهِمْ وَشِرَارُهُمْ تَبَعٌ لِشِرَارِهِمْ

English Translation
It was narrated from Abu Hurayra (رضي الله عنه) — via Ya'la and Yazid, from Muhammad ibn 'Amr, from Abu Salama — that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'People follow Quraysh in this matter [of leadership]. Their good follow the good of Quraysh, and their wicked follow the wicked of Quraysh.'
