English Translation
It was narrated from Abu Hurayra (رضي الله عنه) — via 'Abd al-Razzaq, from Ma'mar, from al-Zuhri, from Humayd ibn 'Abd al-Rahman — that the Prophet ﷺ saw phlegm [nukhama] on the qibla wall of the mosque and scraped it off with a stone [marwa] or something. Then he said: 'When one of you stands for prayer, let him not expectorate in front of him nor to his right — for there is an angel to his right. Rather, let him expectorate to his left or under his left foot.'
