حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ عَنْ سُهَيْلِ بْنِ أَبِي صَالِحٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ إِذَا أَحَبَّ عَبْدًا قَالَ لِجِبْرِيلَ إِنِّي أُحِبُّ فُلَانًا فَأَحِ
بَّهُ قَالَ فَيَقُولُ جِبْرِيلُ لِأَهْلِ السَّمَاءِ إِنَّ رَبَّكُمْ يُحِبُّ فُلَانًا فَأَحِبُّوهُ قَالَ فَيُحِبُّهُ أَهْلُ السَّمَاءِ قَالَ وَيُوضَعُ لَهُ الْقَبُولُ فِي الْأَرْضِ قَالَ وَإِذَا أَبْغَضَ فَمِثْلُ ذَلِكَ

English Translation
It was narrated from Abu Hurayra (رضي الله عنه) — via 'Abd al-Razzaq, from Ma'mar, from Suhayl ibn Abi Salih, from his father — that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'When Allah loves a servant, He says to Jibril: "I love so-and-so, so love him." Then Jibril says to the people of heaven: "Your Lord loves so-and-so, so love him." The people of heaven love him. Then acceptance [al-qabul] is placed for him on earth. And when [Allah] hates [a servant], the like of that happens.'
