English Translation

It was narrated from Abu Hurayra (رضي الله عنه) — via 'Abd al-Razzaq, from Ma'mar, from al-Zuhri, from Abu Salama ibn 'Abd al-Rahman — that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Allah has not given permission [adhana — listened and attended] to anything as He has given permission to a prophet to recite the Quran beautifully [yataghanna bihi — with a melodious voice].'
