English Translation

It was narrated from Abu Hurayra (رضي الله عنه) — via 'Abd al-Razzaq, from Ma'mar, from al-Zuhri, from Ibn al-Musayyab — that the Prophet ﷺ said: 'Allah (تعالى) says: "Let none of you say: 'Ya khayba al-dahr [O misfortune of time!]' — for I am al-Dahr [Time]. I alternate its night and its day. When I will, I seize them both."' [This is a variant of the same prohibition as hadith 168, transmitted through a different chain — al-Zuhri → Ibn al-Musayyab — rather than al-Zuhri → 'Ubaydullah ibn 'Abdillah.]
