English Translation

It was narrated from Abu Hurayra (رضي الله عنه) — via 'Abd al-A'la, from Ma'mar, from al-Zuhri, from Sa'id — that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'The likeness of the believer is like a [young] crop — the wind constantly bends it, and the believer is constantly struck by trials. And the likeness of the hypocrite is like the cedar tree [al-arza] — it does not sway until it is uprooted.'
