حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ عَنْ دَاو
ُدَ عَنْ شَيْخٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ يَأْتِي عَلَيْكُمْ زَمَانٌ يُخَيَّرُ فِيهِ الرَّجُلُ بَيْنَ الْعَجْزِ وَالْفُجُورِ فَمَنْ أَدْرَكَ ذَلِكَ الزَّمَانَ فَلْيَخْتَرْ الْعَجْزَ عَلَى الْفُجُورِ

English Translation
It was narrated from Abu Hurayra (رضي الله عنه) — via 'Abd al-Razzaq, from Sufyan, from Dawud, from a shaykh — that he said: 'I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: "A time will come upon you when a man will be given a choice between incapacity [al-'ajz] and wickedness [al-fujur]. Whoever lives to see that time, let him choose incapacity over wickedness."'
