English Translation
It was narrated from Abu Hurayra (رضي الله عنه) — via 'Abd al-Razzaq, from Ma'mar, from al-Zuhri, from Ibn al-Musayyab — that Abu Hurayra said: 'the Messenger of Allah ﷺ declared sacred what is between the two lava fields [labatayn] of Madina.' Abu Hurayra said: 'If I were to find gazelles between its two lava fields, I would not disturb them.' And he designated twelve miles around Madina as a protected sanctuary [hima].
