حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ عَنْ شُعْبَةَ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ ا
لرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ آدَمَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ كَتَبَ الْجُمُعَةَ عَلَى مَنْ قَبْلَنَا فَاخْتَلَفُوا فِيهَا وَهَدَانَا اللَّهُ لَهَا فَالنَّاسُ لَنَا فِيهَا تَبَعٌ غَدًا لِلْيَهُودِ وَبَعْدَ غَدٍ لِلنَّصَارَى

English Translation
It was narrated from Abu Hurayra (رضي الله عنه) — via Ibn Abi 'Adiyy, from Shu'ba, from Qatada, from 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Adam — that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Indeed Allah prescribed Friday for those before us, but they disagreed about it and Allah guided us to it. So the rest of humanity follows us in it — tomorrow [Saturday] for the Jews, and the day after tomorrow [Sunday] for the Christians.'
