English Translation
It was narrated from Abu Hurayra (رضي الله عنه) — via Khalaf ibn al-Walid, from Abu Ma'shar, from Muhammad ibn Qays — who said: Abu Hurayra was asked: "Did you hear from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ that bad omens are in three things: the dwelling, the horse, and the woman?" He said: "Then I would be attributing to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ what he did not say. Rather, I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: 'The most truthful of omens is the good omen (fa'l), and the evil eye is real.'"
